Following an intensive period of review, reflection and consultation, the Church of Ireland Youth Department launched its strategic plan for 2007 - 2010 at the Representative Church Body on the 17th of April.

Speaking at the launch, the Archbishop of Armagh, the Rt. Rev. Alan Harper, commended the youth department for its clear sightedness and hard work in establishing youth ministry across the Church. He also asked that the plan would be inspired by the Holy Spirit who would...

... 'blaze in our hearts, and indeed blaze in our bellies with passion for the young of today.'

Bishop Richard Henderson (President of the Youth Department), thanked the staff and committees of the CIYD for their vision and work in promoting the gospel to and with this new generation.

In his comments, David Brown, the Youth Ministry Co-ordinator noted the sense of hope and challenge young people bring to the Church of Ireland. He also thanked the RCB, The Priorities Fund, and the Department of Education and Science, Youth Affairs Section for their support over many years to this work.
